The Presbyterian Church Historic Sanctuary
The Presbyterian Church Historic Sanctuary in Roswell was the city’s first place of worship and served as a hospital during the Civil War. The church was built in 1840 and was designed by Willis Ball, a master craftsman from Windsor, Conn. Its design is reminiscent of New England meeting houses, with four large columns, raised pulpits, and galleries for slave members.
